Ghana Customs Regime : transit Goods

Abstract

Goods may be imported without payment of duty for transit through Ghana. A number of prohibitions and restrictions are also in force regarding transit t transit goods. They are imposed for such reasons as security of the State, revenue, public health or prevention of animal and plant diseases and relate in particular to: Goods which bear a design in imitation of any currency or bank note or coin in current use in Ghana or elsewhere, animals or carcasses infested with disease, Narcotic drugs and opium prepared for smoking, Report which requires transit goods to be separately reported at the first port of call.
