dc.description.abstractThe document reports on the Workshop on the Application of New Technologies for Database Management and Data Dissemination, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from November 3-8, 1997. Organized by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), with financial support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the workshop aimed to enhance database management and data dissemination practices in participating countries. It covered national experiences, trends in database management, and the presentation of the UNESIS Common Database prototype. The workshop concluded with recommendations for improving statistical data dissemination and management, emphasizing the importance of integrating new technologies and methodologies.en
