Abstract
This statement presented by the deputy executive secretary at the seventh session of the commission. on his statement highlights three part on trade and payments under symbol E/CN.14/303. The first part, devoted to foreign trade, mainly concerns the part played by EGA in the historic event of the past year in the fields of international trade and co-operation. The second part gives an account of the work done by ECA in 1964 in the Customs field, in which feel that, as year succeeds year, we are achieving results that are increasingly satisfactory as well as more and more precise and positive, whether they refer to the harmonization of Customs policies and systems, technical assistance to Governments, our co-operation other organizations, or training. The third part, which concerns payments and currency, describes the initiative taken by the secretariat, in pursuance of the recommendations adopted at your sixth session, in arranging the first Meeting of African Monetary Authorities at Tokyo, in conjunction with the annual assemblies of the international financial institutions.
