This paper seeks to emphasize the folly of an intolerant attitude towards the application of new and complicated farm management techniques to peasant agriculture. It is concerned that directors of agriculture should encourage their use if valid policies, for improving the productivity of farm resources, are to be devised. This information is of crucial importance since labor is the major cost time in peasant agriculture. Moreover, although to the uninstructed, labor studies may appear to have no immediate practical value, in the long-term, they are of immense value in providing basic data for the kind of forward-planning studies that have been discussed in this paper.
