Report on staff and administrative questions

Abstract

It will be recalled that at the ninth meeting, discussed a report on staff and administrative questions and requested additional information on personnel questions and the composition of the ECA secretariat. This information has been provided to the present document. It contains tables that shows the authorized posts for the year 1973 by level. In addition to the authorized posts, there are 10 additional posts financed from extra-budgetary sources. These, sources include bilateral assistance funds provided by donor Governments or foundations, interested in some aspect of development in Africa the distribution, of these posts among incumbents has been provided here. In addition it provides a breakdown by grades of African staff members subject to geographical distribution, As indicated in the last report, when compared to other United Nations regional economic commissions, and in spite of the fact that it was established ten years later, the ECA secretariat has quite a good record of Africanization.
