The Regional Group of the United Nations Advisory Committee on the application of Science and Technology to Development (African Regional Group) held its eighth consultative meeting. During a meeting it gave a brief review of the work of the ECA secretariat relating to the African Regional Plan since the seventeenth meeting of the African Regional Group. It informed the meeting of the resolution adopted by the-Commission on the implementation of the African Regional Plan at the Second Meeting of the Conference of Ministers of the ECA held in Accra in February 1973. The attention of the Group was drawn to the important task of getting the Plan implemented at the country level. Before concluding it briefly outlined the work programme of the Commission in science and technology and pointed out a number of ongoing activities within the secretariat in the field of science and technology which are particularly relevant to, the various programs in the African Plan. finally appealed to the members of the African Group to make concrete proposals which would ensure that action was started on the implementation of the Plan as soon as possible.
