The study called for by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 2096 (XX) on the role of multilateral food aid comes into this general context and within the framework of world strategy of development. This study, launched by the United Nations and FAO, will be linked to the Indicative world Agricultural Plan being prepared by FAO, as well as to the work of UNCTAD, because certain developing countries could play an important part in the perspective of a deliberate production in excess of present trade requirements.
