The present paper is intended to give a general overview of the country programmes of the African least developed countries for the 1980s. the paper is divided into two main parts, namely: (a) an outline of the major and macro-economic targets contained in the programmes and (b) observations on the projects for the projects for the 1980s as presented in the individual country documents.
