| dc.description.abstract | As a rather of urgency, African countries must strengthen their statistical infrastructures as a basis for effective policy-making and planning. In this connection, they are urged to formulate statistical development programmes and these should be included in national development plans. These programmes should incorporate a list of data requirements in line with its needs and priority.The importance of data evaluation and analysis was stressed.
