The forty-second meeting of the Committee of Experts and the fifty-sixth session of the Economic Commission for Africa will be held under the theme: “Financing the transition to inclusive green economies in Africa: imperatives, opportunities and policy options”. The vital role of enterprises and targeted green subsidy programmes in the achievement of sustainable development and climate resilience in Africa will be highlighted, as will the need for countries to take collective action to mobilize green and development finance while leveraging private sector investment, sustainable debt practices, green bonds and regional cooperation. Such efforts are essential for a transition to climate resilient and inclusive green economies aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, of the African Union. This Annotated provisional agenda consist: Election of the Bureau and adoption of the agenda and programme of work; Overview of recent economic and social developments in Africa; Assessment of progress on regional integration in Africa; Presentation on the theme of the fifty-sixth session of the Economic Commission for Africa; Statutory issues; Date, venue and theme of the fifty-seventh session of the Economic Commission for Africa; Consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee of Experts and consideration of recommendations and draft resolutions.
