The present report provides a summary of the support of agencies within the United Nations system working in Africa extended to the African Union and its New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) programme, for the period February 2019–February 2021. It covers support for the implementation of African Union priorities at regional and subregional levels, including those set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, of the African Union. In that context, section II of the report presents an overview of the assistance provided through the Regional Coordination Mechanism for Africa (RCM-Africa) within the framework of the renewed United Nations-African Union partnership on Africa’s integration and development agenda for 2017–2027 from February 2019 to its abolishment in January 2020. Section II reports on the implementation of the African Union– United Nations Development Framework. Section II.G presents the interim activities of Programme 9 of the Regional Integration and NEPAD Section of the Regional Integration and Trade Division of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), together with the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), and the United Nations Department of Global Communications from February 2020 to February 2021. Finally, section V is the initial report on the establishment of the Regional Collaboration Platform (RCP) and its activities from March 2020 to February 2021.
