The use of input-output models for economic analysis and development planning

Abstract

Paper prepared for presentation at a Seminar on "National Accounts and their Uses in Economic Analysis and Planning", organized by the Ministry of planning and Economic Planning, Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) 1-5 November, 1993. The paper serve as a catalyst in providing an opportunity for Ethiopian planners and practitioners to exchange their experiences as well as discuss the methodological and operations issues involved in the national development planning of the country. In addition, it is also hoped that the exercise will lead to the formulation of a common vision on what should be done to ensure rapid socio-economic transformation and sustained development in Ethiopia.
