A landmark in the relationship between the developed and developing countries of the world occurred in 1974.at the sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly, the urgent need for the establishment of a new international economic order so as to “correct inequalities redress existing injustices and to make it possible to eliminate the widening gap between the developed and developing countries “was recognized the general assembly then adopted the resolution on the New International Economic Order(NIEO) which was followed by the formal acceptance of charter of Economic rights and Duties of state.
