Information paper on technical assistance provided to countries and territories of the ECA region under the expanded and regular programmes

Abstract

This information paper describes the technical assistance provided in 1960 in the region served by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) by the Organization participating in this expanded programme of technical assistance. With the emergence of a number of independent countries in Africa, increasing attention has been focused on the technical assistance needs of this region. In recognition of such needs, a programming mission headed by the secretary of ECA recently visited the Intent countries and the Cameroon to assist them in the formulation of requests for technical assistance. The results are reflected in a rapid build-up of the African programme for the immediate future.
