dc.description.abstractThe expert session of the second Joint African Union (AU)/ Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Conference of Ministers of Gender and Women’s Affairs was held on 25-27 August. This joint Conference of the AU and ECA offers a unique opportunity to experts to examine and harmonize the programmes for gender equality and advancement of African women. It further underscored the pressing nature of the development challenges facing Africa including gender inequality. This note calls for continental institutions and other development partners to collaborate, harness resources, ensure coherence and avoid duplication.en
