Report of the comittee of experts of the second joint meeting of the AU conference of ministers of economy and finance and ECA conference of African ministers of finance, planning and economic developmet

Abstract

The twenty-eighth meeting of the Committee of Experts of the second Joint Annual Meetings of the AU Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and ECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development was held under the Conference theme of "Enhancing the effectiveness of fiscal policy for domestic resources mobilization". The conference was ideal for examining how alternative sources of development finance and fiscal policies could be combined to strengthen national tax systems and improve public expenditure management. While continuing the efforts of market reform and good governance, African policymakers should also advocate the establishment of a better and more stable international financial architecture. The conference would make concrete recommendations in that regard. It also cited several accomplishments of the Committee during the past year and noted that the Government of Ethiopia would continue to support all future efforts of the Committee.
