It is proposed that implementation of the overall program be monitored by an Africa Statistical Best Practice Program steering committee which will also double as the CASD Task Force on Databases and Data Banks. The committee membership is expected to include the ECA first at, ADB, UNSD and other interested bilateral and multilateral agencies. It should also include the directors of statistics from each participating pilot country. The World Bank will serve as the chair and secretariat for the steering committee. The steering committee should meet no less than once a year and should submit periodic reports to the CASD. The CASD, through its secretariat at the ECA, will then facilitate further dissemination of the pilot results to other statistical agencies, training centers etc. in Africa. This will be done both electronically through the newly established CASD home page2 , and through regional workshops in Addis Ababa and elsewhere.
