Economic bulletin for Africa

Abstract

This sixth issue of the Economic Bulletin for Africa contains a review of current economic developments in Africa, and three separate articles on specific subjects. The designations employed and the presentation of the material in this Bulletin do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the Secretariat of the United Nations concerning the delimitation of the frontiers of any country or territory. In referring to combinations of years, the use of an oblique stroke - e.g. 1958/59 - signifies a twelve-month period (for example from 1 July 1958 to 30 June 1959). The use of a hyphen - e.g. 1954-1958 -- normally signifies either an average of, or a total for, the full period of calendar years covered (including the end years indicated).
