Importance of tourism statistics and the NEFD to harmonize their method of collection, processing and dissemination in Africa

Abstract

During the last twenty years the implementation of national tourism development policies in Africa was reflected in major development work on site significant improvements in hotel infrastructure and means of communication increase in the number of souvenir shop and restaurant in tourists area an a rapid expansion in the activities of travel agencies the multi sectoral nature of these action undertaken by governments bring to the fore the relative importance of tourism in national economics which in fact enjoyed contributions from international travels and thereby help in the improvement of balance of payment position of state.
