Abstract

Transnational corporations in the production and trade of selected food commodities: an integrated report of case studies involving selected African countries. The scope of this report covers four agricultural food commodities, sugar, coffee and tea with particular focus on a corresponding number of selected African countries. The subset of commodities and countries includes bananas from Cameroon, sugar from Zimbabwe, coffee from Burundi and tea from Kenya. The broad design of integration of the case studies covered is predicted on guidelines provided in the general conceptual framework and merits some attention as a background to the organization of this paper.
