Abstract
This report on a mission to Kenya (14-19 August, 1988) delivered by E. A. Colecraft Demographic Statistics Adviser Statistics Division. Mr. Colecraft, on his report highlighted that, the mission was undertaken from 14 to 19 August 1988 to review the state of preparedness by the Kenya Census office for the country’s population census scheduled for August/September 1989. The review was to cover particularly the field organization and the training programme for field supervisors and enumerators. The census has been planned and executed by national personnel with only limited technical advisory support as indicated except in the area of data processing where a long-term resident expert has been provided by ODA. The meeting ended with a decision that the coordinators were to return to the field to supervise the training of enumerators which had just then started.
