Abstract

This is the fifth volume of the Devindex Africa series prepared and issued by PAD1S, the Pan-African Documentation and Information System, created by the ECA, January 1980, with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Development Research Centre, and ADB and formally inaugurated January 1981. The present volume, as well as previous issues of Devindex Africa, contains the analysis of selected documents published by ECA since its creation in 195 8 to the present. All the literature indexed here is of the unconventional or "fugitive" type, often fairly difficult to locate. Most of the documents exist only as a file hard copy. Records in this issue were processed at ECA by MINISIS software developed at IDRC for use on a Hewlett Packard 3000 computer. Typesetting was done directly from the computer tape. All the documents mentioned in this issue and those to be analyzed in the coming issues are available in microform, either fiche or film.
