National accounts in Chad and facilities required for their preparation

Abstract

A report on Chad’s economic accounts with a description of the difficulties encountered in preparing them and of the facilities required to ensure a proper basis for the analysis and synthesis so essential to the production of accurate national accounts. The study of the various branches of activity in undertakings can only be carried out on the basic of accurate information concerning all firms operating in Chad. Yet this cannot be done, because there are hardly any card-indexes of undertakings and establishment; the economic and financial data for one branch or another are not available, and it is at the moment impossible to have information on such ,important items as: turnover, wages, equipment etc. for any given sector.
