The resolution provided valuable information on the effects of economic groupings in Europe on industrialization in Africa, intra-African trade and Africa’s economic development in general. Having considered at the possible adverse effects of the European economic groupings examined in the report on the long-term prospects of industrialization in Africa and on intra-African trade. European economic groupings are designed in such a way as primarily to meet the political and economic needs and aspirations of Western European countries.
