Effects of economic groupings in Europe on African economies: resolution 31 (III) adopted by the Commission at its 52nd plenary meeting on 17 February 1961
Abstract
The resolution provided valuable information on the effects of economic groupings in Europe on industrialization in Africa, intra-African trade and Africa’s economic development in general. Having considered at the possible adverse effects of the European economic groupings examined in the report on the long-term prospects of industrialization in Africa and on intra-African trade. European economic groupings are designed in such a way as primarily to meet the political and economic needs and aspirations of Western European countries.
