The analysis and application of labor force statistics can usefully be considered from two aspects: utilizing existing data and identifying the specific questions for which new data sources must be developed. In this Seminar, we are concerned with the methods of obtaining data on the labor force - its size, distribution and other characteristics. But the ultimate objective of our concern is, of course, to obtain accurate and adequate statistical data to serve practical purposes.
