dc.description.abstractThe objectives of the survey determine the type of survey and the choice of the sample design. The Sub-Commission on Statistical Sampling of the United Nations Statistical Commission has distinguished the following types of surveys: integrated survey, multi-subject survey, continuing survey, ad hoc survey, multipurpose e survey, specialized or special-purpose survey. As noted by the Sub-Commission, integrated surveys in which date are collected on several subjects for the Same set of sampling units for studying the relationship among items belonging to different subjects fields are of special importance in studies on levels of living; integrated surveys of consumption and production enterprises are also of special importance in developing countries where the related activities are frequently undertaken in an integrated manner in the household.en
