This draft resolution adopted by the Economic Commission for Africa at its Tenth session, Industrial development policies and strategies. The Economic Commission for Africa, having noted with satisfaction the activities of the secretariat in the biennium 1969/71 with regard to the promotion of industrial development and reviewed the reports contained in E/4824, E/CN.14/477 and E/CN.14/502 and in particular the document entitled “Africa’s Strategy for Development in the 1970’s”, The Economic Commission for Africa, conscious of the high priority accorded to industrialization during the First development Decade by member States in their resolve to use industrialization as a principal instrument for the transformation of their socio-economic conditions.
