The report presents the results of the committee’s investigations and its recommendations for the establishment of the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results of the investigation into statistical requirements and the activities of the existing statistics office were considered in making recommendations for the functions and internal structure of the central bureau and in assessing its staff and budget requirements. The proposals made in respect of recruitment and training are aimed at providing the full staff needed as quickly as possible. The aim in this suction has been to suggest a practicable programme of work which would expand as more staff become available.
