dc.description.abstractThis report reviewing the admission of Mauritania to membership in the Economic Commission for Africa. at its 55th meeting on 18 February 1961, the Economic Commission for Africa agreed to submit a draft resolution, for action by the Economic and Social Council, which sought the council’s approval for the admission of Mauritania to membership in the Economic Commission for Africa, under paragraph 6 of the terms of reference of the commission. At its plenary meeting, 19 July 1961, the Council adopted resolution No. 822(XXXIl) the copy of which is attached approving the recommendation of the Commission. Mauritania has therefore become member of the Economic Commission for Africa.en
