Colony and protectorate of Kenya: statistical organization and programme of statistical development

Abstract

Colony and protectorate of Kenya focuses on the statistical service for Kenya is at present High Commission within which the Kenya Unit has a special responsibility for meeting the statistical needs of the territory and works in close collaboration with the treasury and other Ministers of Kenya Government. In Kenya, it is proposed to establish an Economic and Statistics Division within treasury. This new division will combine the functions hitherto carried out by the Kenya Unit of the East African Statistical Department and those of the Economic Research Division of the Treasury. The division will have its own data processing unit and the permanent staff of the division will consist of a Director, one senior professional officer.
