The third meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts was opened on 2 September 1972 by Mr. Ntahorubuze (Burundi) in the absence of Mr. J. V. Mudavadi, chairman of the second meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts. The secretariat reported on resolutions and decisions concerning the commission adopted by the general assembly and the economic and social council since the second meeting of the committee. The Executive Secretary reported that current financial constraints had affected the work of the secretariat especially with regard to provision of regional advisory services. The Secretariat reviewed the activities undertaken in the implementation of the programme of work and priorities of the Commission since the second meeting of the committee up to 31 August 1972.
