In the case of many of the newly independent countries of Africa the need for reliable statistics is acute because they have to start developing economically in a meaningful way and maintain an even race with the more advanced countries .in a large number of these countries programme of statistical development have already begun in this context a programme of household survey has become very important from the point of view of availability of statistics on a very wide range of topic.
