The Working Group on Possible Approaches to the integration of demographic, social and related economic statistics in development planning in Africa met in Moscow, USSR, from 7 to 14 September 1987, The meeting was convened with the financial support of the USSR Government through the United Nations Regular Programme of Technical Cooperation. The First Vice-Chairman of the State Committee of USSR for Statistics opened the meeting. Messages from the Director of Statistics Division of the ECU and from the Chief of External Relations, State Committee of the USSR for External Economic relations were communicated at the opening session
