Regional Meeting on Socio-Economic and Policy Aspects of Water Resources Management in Africa: report of the meeting

Abstract

The paper drew attention to the social, economic, political, and climatic conditions in which the Mar del Plata Action Plan has been implemented in the African region. It recalled the recommendations. It then reviewed the progress and constraints in the in the implementation of the recommendations. It then reviewed the progress and constraints in the implementation of the recommendations. It concluded that though there have been a few achievements, the region on the whole has not faxed hell. It noted that the constraints of May, finance and know are still much with this region as they were in 1977. It suggests that these constraints be looked at in the totality of the constraints in the national economies.
