Enhancement of the contributions of African aluminium, copper, Iron and steel industries towards the regions, economic advancement

Abstract

Aluminium, copper and steel are used in various capital intensive industries such as transport (aluminium parts for motor vehicles, copper for equipment parts for the road, rail and water transport sectors; and steel for rail roads, automobiles and ships); mechanical engineering (industrial equipment and plants); construction (general infrastructure, buildings and houses); electrical engineering (aluminium and copper); and a wide variety of consumer goods. Hence the higher the intensify of consumption of these basic metals the healthier would be the economic performance of a country.
