Aluminium, copper and steel are used in various capital
intensive industries such as transport (aluminium parts for
motor vehicles, copper for equipment parts for the road,
rail and water transport sectors; and steel for rail roads,
automobiles and ships); mechanical engineering (industrial
equipment and plants); construction (general infrastructure,
buildings and houses); electrical engineering (aluminium
and copper); and a wide variety of consumer goods. Hence
the higher the intensify of consumption of these basic metals
the healthier would be the economic performance of a country.
