Achieving sustainable economic growth in Africa depends heavily on promoting the welfare and productivity of women. they already play crucial roles in food production, household maintenance and reproduction. gender disparities are prevalent almost everywhere in Africa. Closing the gender gap and enhancing African women's participation in development is essential not only for achieving social justice but also for reducing poverty. This booklet sets out, in plain words, backed by research findings and experience from around the world, the case for gender equality in Africa. The case is expressed in the hard-headed terms of payoffs from investment what the economy and society gains from investing in women and as such, is practical guide to those who make public policy or allocate resources.
