The Report of the Executive Secretary to the Sixth Session on the subject of technical assistance laid emphasis on the progress of decentralization to the secretariat of substantive and administrative responsibility for regional programmes and on the role of the Commission, in co-operation with Resident Representatives, in the formulation of country programme requests. The emphasis in this report will be on the continuing contribution of the Commission to approved country programmes and to Special Fund projects, and on the future role of the Commission in initiating and coordinating assistance to Africa from bilateral agencies.
