Report of the fifth meeting of the executive committee

Abstract

The fifth meeting of the Executive Committee took place in Addis Ababa from 24 to 28 May 1971 under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Tijani Chelli, Chairman of the first meeting of the Conference of Ministers. After the opening remarks by the Chairman, H.E. Mr. Diallo Telli, Administrative Secretary-General of the OAU welcomed the members of the Committee on behalf of his Organization. He expressed gratitud.e to the Government-of the Republic of Tunisia for the hospitality and facilities accorded to participants during the first meeting of the Conference of Ministers. He also said that the first meeting of the Conference of Ministers was an opportunity for the strengthening of the new structure of the Commission which was adopted in 1969 for the economic and social development of the region.
