Report of the third meeting of the conference of plenipotentiaries

Abstract

The third meeting of the conference of plenipotentiaries of the African remote sensing council, held in Bamako, Republic of Mali, took the following decisions and adopted recommendations: All member States at national level should establish national committees on remote sensing which will co-ordinate and develop their remote sensing activities; The secretariat of the Economic Commission for Africa in collaboration with the bureau and the secretariat of the council, should undertake- sensitization missions to countries of member States with a view to increasing the membership of the council and securing the moral, political and, material support for the ARS program; the committee of experts comprising the directors of the regional centers and ECA's experts should examine the training program of the centers. This panel of experts should act in accordance with the terms of reference annexed to this report.
