Abstract
The PADIS-STAT project is one of the five components of the Pan African Documentation and Information System (PADIS) project currently being conducted at ECA. It relates to the setting up of a bank containing socio-economic statistical data on African countries. The objective is to store a sizeable and optimum amount of statistical information and to provide speech and multiple access to such information, lo help in carrying out this important task of PADIS a survey mission organized and financed by the Government of France was asked to test in a number of African countries, the project feasibility and then to consider and submit a set of proposals for organizing the management of the system.
