Special international conference of UNIDO

Abstract

The convening of the Conference may be considered as the culmination of a series of discussions in the Industrial Development Board and the General Assembly concerning the future activities of UNIDO, its resources and organizational, structure. In view of the increasing interest indicated by the Governments in the Conference and of the challenging task which the holding of this Conference represents especially to the developing countries, the active participation of these countries would be expected to carry particular weight in charting the Organisation's development towards meeting fully the growing needs of the developing countries in the field of industrialization.
