Abstract
The Kenya Registered Land Act was passed in 1963 had to ;take into account and be reconciled with no fewer than five ordinances which already made provision for land, registration in some form or other. In 192 the Registration of Documents Ordinance had introduced registration of deeds in its simplest form, but in 1908 the Land Titles Ordinance (as amended in 1910) established a more sophisticated type of deeds registration which, supported by official survey plans, approached a system of registration of title and this system was adopted for titles granted under the: Crown Lands Ordinance 1915.
