The continuing growth of the world's population places the question
of agricultural output in the first rank of world preoccupations, both in the rich, developed countries and in the under—developed or backward countries of the Tiers—monde.More often than not better cultivation means replacing natural primitive vegetation by another, economically more rewarding vegetation, to which man gives all his attention.
