Major mineral resources of Africa
Abstract
The purpose of this paper and its complementary reports is to study the major known and potential mineral resources of the African continent, to give a quantitative and qualitative picture of their distribution and possibilities for exploitation and to evaluate how far they will be available in the future In so far as possible, the goals for the coming decades are determined on the basis of current geological knowledge and take into consideration the basic economic development needs of member States.
