The Governing, Council of the Mombasa -Lagos Trans-African Highway Authority meeting m Bangui,- Central African Republic on 26 July 1980, adopted two important resolutions that have wider implications than the confines of the influence area of the Mombasa-Lagos highway. These were the preparation of an African Highly Code, based on an ECA-prepared outline and the quick establishment of an African highway Association. Both resolutions call on other subregional highway entities,in this particular case the Cairo-Gaborone Trains-East African Highway, to support the publication of the-Code and the establishment, forthwith, of the African highway Association.
