Résumé
The first edition of the geological map of north-west Africa was published on the occasion of the 19th International Geological Congress (Algiers, 1952). As this edition is exhausted, and as geological study of the Sahara has made considerable progress, it has been decided to compile a second edition, the preparation of which has been entrusted to the Centre de reoherches sahariennes (CMS) (Centre for Saharan Research).
