This note on the procedures for accession to the General agreement and on the advantages in such accession for relatively under-developed countries has been prepared in response to numerous enquiries from less industrialized countries of the world. The note is intended for those Countries which have not thus far joined the community of nations which accept the rules of GATT to govern the conduct of their international trade and also to those- territories, particularly in Africa, which have acquired independent status and may wish to have some detailed information on the operation of the General- Agreement.
