The eleventh meeting of the Conference of African Ministers of Transport and Communications was held in Cairo, Egypt from 15 to 27 November 1997. The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress report, consider the report on the second mid-term evaluation of the UNTACDA II programme, and decide on a framework plan of action for speeding up the implementation of the programme. The meeting was attended by representatives of the following members States of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA): Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Comoros, the Congo, Cote d'lvoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, the Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, the Sudan, Swaziland, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
