Statement by the commissioner for industrial development delivered at the opening meeting of the first session of the standing committee on industry and natural resources

Abstract

In recent years there has been an important rate of growth of industrial development in many African countries. The estimate of 7.4 per cent of annual growth rate increase, presented in the Survey prepared by the Economic Commission for Africa for this meeting, compares favorably with the growth rate in other areas of the world.
